Cricket

The Cricket Club aims to continue College's strong tradition of cricket. At the top level, OCs can compete in the Cricketer Cup, which is the premium old boys' cricket competition. The Club also plays in a number of other fixtures throughout the year and all Cheltonian Society members are welcome to show an interest in playing.

Football Club

The 11-a-side Football Club was formed in 2021. The club has formally joined the Arthurian League, an official FA league of old boys, based in London. While only OCs are eligible to play in the Arthurian League, all Society members are eligible to play in friendlies.

Golf

Open to all golfing abilities, the Golf club plays some of the best courses in the country. As the fixture restrictions mean only OCs can play, membership of the Golf club is limited to OCs. All ages and abilities are welcome; one of the great attractions of golf is that you can participate against others of different abilities. Most fixtures are open to all members and members can compete for selection where an OC team is entered. Major meetings include the Halford Hewitt and Grafton Morrish, alongside informal matches against other public school golf societies and a match against College. At the annual Autumn Meeting there is the opportunity to duel for some marvellous and historic silverware. Green fees are subsidised for under-30s, so don't miss out whilst your eligible!

Women's Hockey

The Women's Hockey club play in the Dean Close Sixes Tournament, usually in October each year. Any members of the Cheltonian Society can play and there isn't a maximum number of players - the more the merrier.

Men's Hockey

The Men's OC Hockey club play a dozen matches in an Old Boys Hockey League across the year in London, primarily in Battersea Park. They also play in the Haileybury Sixes in September, which sees Old Boys XIs play for a coveted trophy, and are planning a match back at College vs the XI with Mr Williams for 2024. The club are always looking for more members to keep the squad (and legs!) fresh, so please get in touch if you would like to get involved.

Parent & OC Hockey

The Parent & OC Hockey club plays on Saturdays at 8.30am (later during the school holidays) and on Tuesdays at 6.30pm (on the College astro turf in the summer and indoors at Bentham Country Club in the winter). The club also plays some friendly fixtures, primarily against other parent teams and touring sides. New members are always welcome. The club is open to past and current parents, current pupils and OCs. All skill levels play, varying from novices to veterans. 

Rackets

The Rackets club are involved in two main tournaments each year: the Noel Bruce at The Queen's Club and the Cheltenham Gold Racket weekend. The Noel Bruce is the Public School Old Boys Rackets Championship. This is a doubles tournament and for many years the Old Cheltonian team has had more pairs than any other school. The Cheltenham Gold Racket weekend is also a doubles tournament but this sees OCs partner up with a non OC. It is a great weekend and includes a dinner in the school dining room on the Saturday night followed by finals on the Sunday. If you would like to continue playing rackets, please get in touch.

Rifle Shooting

The Shooting team take part in the annual Schools' Veterans Target Rifle Match at Bisley. There are opportunities for more OC teams to enter in future years. There may also be opportunities for additional shooters to join in too, for honours only, so other Cheltonian Society members or family are also welcome to get in touch.

Rowing

We are in the process of relaunching the Cheltonian Society Rowing Club which will be based at the Boat House in Tewkesbury and will have the full support of the College Boat Club. The club will be open to all members of the Cheltonian Society. If you are interested in joining, please get in touch.

Sailing

The Sailing club's main annual event is the Arrow Trophy, a two-day regatta between independent schools on the Solent. All members of the Cheltonian Society, of all levels of experience, are eligible to join the Sailing Club. The Arrow Trophy rules stipulate that crews must be made up of 'former pupils' with the option of having up to three 'ringers' (not former pupils) on the crew. The club also plan social events, such as an OC Reunion Lunch Afloat.

Squash

The Squash club take part in the Londonderry Cup, which usually takes place from October culminating in the finals in March, played at the RAC on Pall Mall. This competition is restricted to OCs only. The club is always looking for more squash players so please get in touch.
