Mel Walton (Junior Boarding House Parent and Teacher 2001-13)

We are deeply saddened to share the news that Mel Walton has passed away unexpectedly from natural causes.
 
Mel and her husband Jim were much-loved members of staff at Cheltenham College Junior School from 2001 to 2013, as teachers and Boarding House Parents. 
 
All pupils, parents and staff who knew her will remember the fantastic contribution that Mel made to the school. She was known to be a consummate professional who cared deeply for the pupils in her care. Mel and Jim were both extremely popular members of the Cheltenham College family and this is a tragic loss, particularly for Jim and their sons, Sonny and Milo.
 
We will be thinking of Mel’s family and her friends both here and in the other schools where she worked and lived, in the coming days and weeks.

A memorial service will be held to celebrate the life of Mel Walton (Cheltenham College Junior School 2001-2013) on Friday 7 July in Clifton College Chapel.

All who knew Mel are welcome to attend. The service will be live streamed and if there aren't enough seats, guests will be directed to another venue to sit and watch the service.

The family have asked for donations to Smile Train or The Children’s Literacy Charity instead of flowers.
