Edward Adrian Wilson MB, who died with Captain Scott in the Antarctic about March 29th, 1912 

During summer 2023, College's portrait of explorer Edward Wilson has been painstakingly restored, ready to be rehung in its new home in the Chatfeild-Roberts Library. Dr Edward Adrian Wilson (Day Boy, 1891) was a polar explorer, natural historian, physician, painter and ornithologist, who died in 1912 on the ill-fated Terra Nova Expedition, only 11 miles from One Ton Depot.  

Wilson's portrait was painted by an OC and his son - Briton Rivière (Day Boy, 1858) and Hugh Rivière - and its restoration has been made possible thanks to a generous donation from an OC.

Join us on Sunday 24 September for an unveiling of the restored painting and to learn about Wilson's extraordinary life.
