The Richard Morgan Concert
The family of Richard Morgan (College Head, 1978-1990) and the Cheltenham College community would like to honour and celebrate Richard's life with an afternoon of uplifting music. Sunday 10 October 2021, 4.00pm
For Richard, the force of unified voices in Chapel was one of his sources of strength and inspiration. So, The Richard Morgan Concert will be held in Cheltenham College Chapel, the building that Richard felt was the epicentre of College, on Sunday 10 October 2021 at 4.00pm, followed by a reception in the Chatfeild-Roberts Library. We hope that you will be able to join us to share in his love of music, which supported him throughout his life and especially during challenging times. The Cheltenham College Schola Cantorum will be performing Richard's personal selection of favourite choral works from sacred to show tunes. However, he would expect us all to collaborate and contribute; therefore, there will be a Richard Morgan Choral Society (RMCS) formed for this special occasion. This will give Old Cheltonians, parents, staff and friends the opportunity to perform two triumphant choral feats in Chapel, under the generous directorship of Lindsay Gray (Director of Music, 1986-1992). If you are interested in joining the RMCS, we ask you to be available for a short afternoon rehearsal prior to the concert. For further details, please contact Richard's daughter, Tooey Gowar, via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
